Q: What is the usual stock availability of Working Arts titles?

A: You may confidently order most titles in our catalog with the knowledge that with very few exceptions they will be available for immediate shipment. You will be notified of any significant delay.

Please Note: Forthcoming titles are catalogued with the month in which they are due. Advance orders are given priority and fulfilled immediately upon receipt of stock from the manufacturer.


Q: Do you offer DVDs in PAL format?

A: Given the growing worldwide availability of NTSC equipment we have elected NTSC as our standard worldwide format. For an extra charge and with a one month lead time, you may special order a replicated PAL version for many of our titles. Please enquire as to special order fees.


Q: Are your DVDs broken down into chapters? I’d like to purchase Working Arts titles for my library but we prefer educational products be indexed to allow our patrons to go directly to the chapters which interest them.

A: Yes, with only a couple of exceptions, our titles have been carefully indexed into chapters and sub-chapters to make them convenient to use for classes and for individuals who wish to target or review particular subject areas. You’ll be able to zero in on your area of interest with a click or two of your remote.


Q: Do these videos include a public performance license?

A: There is a strictly limited implied license for performance in classrooms and on the premises of library and educational institutions for audiences of faculty and students on occasions when no admission is charged. CAUTION: All other performance uses require application in writing to The Working Arts Library, Attn: Rights Department.


Q: How may I place my order?

A: 1. You may complete the order process ON LINE at workingartsvideo.com by selecting items from our catalog and then visiting your "Shopping Cart." You will then be guided throught the process of online payment processing.

Q: Why am I asked to select my country upon entering the Working Arts site?

A: Selecting your country allows us to better serve you by offering not only prices in your local currency, but a convenient way to dictate the most economical and freight efficient warehouse from which to ship your order.


Q: Do you accept institutional purchase orders? I’d like to purchase your titles for my college [school, library, etc]. If so, what’s the procedure?

A: 1.Purchase Orders for U.S. educational institutions are cheerfully accepted based on the submission and clearance of three significant trade references. Sorry, Purchase Orders are not accepted for institutions outside the U.S.
2. Credit Application (for educational institutions only)
a) names of three vendors together with a contact name, phone, fax and e-mail.
b) Bank reference with account numbers, Bank Address, Contact, Phone and fax.
c) Mail or fax your Credit Application, Attn: Credit.
3. Allow three weeks for the processing of your credit application.
4. If credit is extended, invoices are offered at Net 30 Day Terms. 1.5 %/month finance charge applies to all accounts over 60 days.


Q: I’m interested in buying multiple copies of the same title for my school district [college, library system]. Do we qualify for any special discount?

A: Yes, provided you buy multiple copies of the same title at the same time, we offer special incentives to libraries and educational institutions.

Q: How do I place a trade order to re-sell Working Arts Library titles? I’d like to stock them in my bookshop [video store, college store, theatre gift shop].

A: Trade orders for retail, college, online and wholesale accounts should be placed with our exclusive trade distributors at standard trade discounts. Credit and payment terms apply.

Q: Under what conditions may I return merchandise?

A: You may return your online purchase if you:
• Return new unopened CDs or DVDs in their original condition with their shrinkwrap and packaging intact. [An opened product is only returnable (for replacement of the same title) if it is shown to be defective]
• Include your packing slip or invoice.
• Return within 30 days of the shipment date listed on your packing slip.
Ship all returns, by traceable means only, with the original packing slip or invoice, to:

Original shipment charges are not refundable. You are responsible for all costs associated with return shipment.

• Returns will be refunded in the form of the original payment method.
• We cannot issue refunds and will NOT return product for items returned to us more than 30 days after shipment date.
• We promptly replace defective titles at our freight expense. We are unable to make any other exchanges.
• The return procedure above applies only to those items purchased from Workingartsvideo.com. It does not apply to titles bought through any other source (e.g. another bookseller, video outlet, online, or retail store).
• We cannot be responsible for packages lost during the returns process. Therefore, we highly recommend that your return be sent as an insured package. The credit for your return will be applied to the credit card used to make the purchase. It may take up to two credit card billing cycles for the credit to appear on your statement.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

A: We accept the following major credit cards:

There is no surcharge for using your credit card to make purchases with the Working Arts Library. Please be sure to provide your exact billing address and telephone number (as they appear on your credit card statement). Incorrect information may cause a delay in processing your order or failure to complete your order request.

Credit card orders may only be shipped to the billing address of the credit card holder.

• Checks and money orders must be in U.S. dollars and drawn on a U.S. bank. Your order will ship once your check clears our New York bank. Be sure to include appropriate taxes, shipping and handling charges. You may mail us a check to

Q: Will I be charged sales tax?

A: Appropriate state sales tax for U.S. orders is calculated during the order checkout process and is based on existing local, state and federal laws.
Any taxes imposed will be specified in your cart prior to submitting your order.
VAT for UK and European orders will be charged according to the rules applicable in the country of delivery.


Q: How can I place a tax-exempt order? We are an educational institution [church, community center, etc.] in New York State.

A: At the completion of your order please fax a copy of your tax exempt certificate along with the confirmation of your order to the Fulfillment Dept at 917-441-5997. A copy of the certificate is mandatory for your request to be honored.

Q: How may I expect my Working Arts order to be delivered?

A: All U.S. orders are shipped via United Parcel Service (UPS). Drivers may attempt delivery at any time between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm., Monday through Friday.

U.K. and European orders are usually shipped via Royal Mail or Securicor.

Q: Before I place an order I’d like to be sure you’ll ship to my U.S. address. Are there any restrictions to your delivery field?

A: At this time, we do not ship to U.S. Protectorates (including Puerto Rico), U.S. Virgin Islands, P.O. Boxes, APO or FPO addresses or prisons/correctional facilities. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Q: What currency will govern my purchase outside the United States?

A: For certain European countries your online order will be taken by our online ordering system in Sterling, because with technical restrictions in current online ordering systems only one currency can be handled within a system. When your order is processed by our distribution center we are able to invoice in multiple currencies, so your order will appear on your credit card in your local currency. The Sterling price will have been converted to your currency at the exchange rate in force at the time your order was processed.

Q: Can I get a complimentary copy of a video to evaluate for use in my school [library, college, conservatory]?

A: While examination or desk copies aren’t available, we welcome you to preview the titles on this site. Simply press the PREVIEW button to gain access to a video excerpt.

Q: How do you acknowledge online purchases?

A: After you have completed your online purchase, you'll be sent an email message acknowledging your purchase.
